5 Things to Do in Bari Sardo Besides the Sea
Bari Sardo is more than just crystal-clear sea and dreamy beaches. This small town in Ogliastra hides treasures that many tourists don’t know about. Here are five experiences we recommend you enjoy during your stay at Domus de Janas.

1. Explore the historic center
The center of Bari Sardo retains an authentic charm with its stone houses, murals, and parish church. Stroll through the narrow streets in the late afternoon. Don’t miss the Torre di Barì, a 17th-century Spanish tower overlooking the coast.
2. Taste the culurgionis
Culurgionis are the signature dish of Ogliastra: handmade ravioli filled with potatoes, mint, and pecorino cheese, closed with a distinctive wheat-ear stitching. At the Domus de Janas restaurant, we prepare them according to the traditional recipe.

3. Trekking on the Golgo
The Golgo plateau, reachable in 40 minutes by car, offers one of the most spectacular landscapes in Sardinia: natural chasms, holm oak forests, and paths leading to Cala Goloritzè.
4. Discover hidden beaches
In addition to the most famous beaches, Ogliastra hides dozens of coves accessible only on foot or by sea. Su Sirboni, Cala Ginepro and Coccorrocci are among our favorites.

5. Experience a sunset from the Tower
One of the most beautiful sunsets in eastern Sardinia can be seen from the Torre di Barì area: the sun sets behind the Ogliastra mountains as the sea turns orange and pink.
Our hotel, just a few meters from the beach, is one of the best places to enjoy this beauty.
