Su Sirboni Beach
Among the most beautiful coves on the Ogliastra coast, “Su Sirboni” combines the love of the sea with the pleasure of adventure. Located in the uncontaminated territory of Gairo, it can be reached by sea or via a path through the woods and rocks. Its name comes from a curiosity: in this stretch of beach, wild boars (sirboni) used to roam undisturbed, as this cove is surrounded by thick vegetation.

How to get there from the Domus de Janas
The parking lot can be reached by car in about 15 minutes, following the coast south. From the parking lot, a 20-minute trail descends through the Mediterranean scrub to the beach. Lightweight hiking shoes are recommended.

What will you find?
The beach is an arc of pale, white sand mixed with a few small pebbles, protected by rocky walls that create a natural amphitheater. The waters are transparent, emerald-colored. A few steps away, beyond the promontory, is Piscine Su Sirboni, a small beach nestled in a hidden cove among red porphyry, much loved by those who enjoy diving from the rocks. There are no services.

Our advice
There’s also a shorter, easier route that begins where the state road still runs along the sea. The longer route, however, if you enjoy walking, can also take you to Cala E’ Luas, another small, picturesque beach just a 15-minute walk away, surrounded by nature and red porphyry.
