Cala Goloritzè
Cala Goloritzè is a protected natural monument and was named an Italian National Monument in 1995. It is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean and the jewel in the crown of the Ogliastra coast. Located in the Baunei area, it features an imposing limestone cliff, the iconic Aguglia (a 143-meter-high rock pinnacle), and dazzling turquoise waters.

How to get there
Cala Goloritzè is accessible only on foot, following a 4km trail (about an hour and a half) from the Golgo plateau, or by sea via boat or dinghy excursions. From Domus de Janas, the starting point of the trek is a 45-minute drive, while the port of Santa Maria Navarrese is just 25 minutes away.

What will you find?
Smooth white pebbles, some of the clearest crystalline water in Sardinia, and the distinctive arch carved into the rock are just some of the wonders that make this corner of Sardinia a paradise on earth. The beach is a natural monument: taking sand and pebbles with you is prohibited. Access is limited during the summer months.

Our advice
Boat trips from Santa Maria Navarrese are the best option, avoiding the strenuous trek and offering the opportunity to visit other coves and beaches. However, if you prefer a long walk, park your car near the country church of “San Pietro” and simply follow the signs from there. There’s a restaurant and a bar nearby, but there are no services once you’ve started on the trail.
