THE BEACHES
Different beaches every day, all beautiful!
Sardinia is a paradise but nowadays there are few areas and beaches that are not crowded and less frequented. If what you are looking for are uncrowded, uncontaminated, not very windy beaches and without beach resorts, you are in the right place. The beaches of Bari Sardo and Ogliastra in general are the few in Sardinia that are still intact, without the typical summer crowds. Another characteristic of our beaches is the presence of little wind throughout the year.
Our hotel, in particular, is located a few steps from a large beach dominated by an imposing Saracen Tower, the Torre di Barì, never too crowded, in a quiet area where you can enjoy a relaxing holiday away from mass tourism and the overcrowded beaches of the rest of the island!
Ogliastra is able to offer you beaches and coves that are always new and fascinating, we want to help you choose the most suggestive and most suitable places for your needs to best organize your holiday.
The map shows the most beautiful beaches nearby, most of which can be reached directly by motorbike or car.
The beaches of Baunei, such as Cala Goloritzè, Cala Mariolu, and Cala Biriola, are the most charming and unique, but also the most difficult to reach: by land, they require a challenging and sometimes dangerous trek, not recommended for the untrained or unfamiliar.
The alternative is by sea, renting a boat or hiring an operator. We’re happy to help with scheduling and pricing.
Torre di Barì
The beach next to which our hotel is located, where peace, nature and tranquility surround the crystal-clear waters and the scent of the Mediterranean scrub. The imposing Saracen tower divides the coastline into two parts: in the larger section the beach is characterized by sand similar to grains of rice, light in color, and is known as the men’s beach. The other part is instead made up of larger pebbles, with an almost gravelly appearance, and is called the women’s beach, due to an ancient tradition that prevented men and women from bathing in the same spot.
Cala Goloritzè
One of the most beautiful and well-known coves in the Mediterranean, named “Italian National Monument” in 1995, Cala Goloritzè is the jewel in the crown of the Ogliastra coast. Of extraordinary beauty and cultural interest, it combines the love of the sea with that of excursions. It intrigues with its geological history and enchants with the marvelous works created by nature.
Reachable by sea and by land, this splendid cove is an unmissable stop for those who find themselves in Ogliastra and Sardinia.
The turquoise of its waters, the underwater springs, the marble rocks smoothed by time, the characteristic arch carved into the rock are just some of the wonders that make this corner of Sardinia a paradise on earth.
“Monte Carrodi”, a limestone spire that overlooks the beach, is ideal for free climbing lovers.
Reachable via a 4km path that leads from the hinterland to the sea, an unforgettable experience during which you can admire the rich vegetation that surrounds the beach. The luckiest ones will be able to spot the “Queen’s Falcon”, a very rare species that lives in this area. A
Once you have parked your car near the country church of “San Pietro”, just follow the signs. In the area you can find a Restaurant and a Bar, but once you have started on the path there are no services.
Santa Maria Navarrese Beach
The beach of Santa Maria Navarrese takes its name from the country church in honor of the Madonna, built in medieval times by the princess of Navarra.
The beach, dominated by the Spanish Tower, is located in the town of the same name. Surrounded by typical Mediterranean vegetation, it offers pleasant surprises; in fact, next to the country church, there is a thousand-year-old wild olive tree that reaches 10 m in height.
Small but suggestive, the beach of Santa Maria Navarrese is characterized by very coarse white sand and gravel mixed with pebbles, shallow seabeds and crystalline emerald-colored waters.
The beach is full of services: access for the disabled, large parking lot also suitable for campers, bar, refreshment point and clubs. It is possible to rent umbrellas, deck chairs and pedal boats.
Lido di Orrì Beach
Lido di Orri is one of the largest beaches in Ogliastra. Among the most beautiful and popular in the area, it is characterized by very fine sand with rocks both on the beach and in the water, shallow waters up to 300 m from the shore.
Being windy, it is ideal for surfers, but also for those who love underwater fishing or simply snorkeling.
The area is full of services, restaurants, bars and clubs that liven up the nightlife. Equipped with a large parking lot also suitable for campers. It is possible to rent umbrellas, deck chairs and pedal boats.
Cala Ginepro
“Cala Ginepro” also known as “Il Golfetto” is a cove with very shallow and transparent waters with iridescent colors. The fine and very white sand is accompanied by small clusters of rocks.
A corner of Ogliastra with Caribbean colors and the scents of the Mediterranean scrub. The vegetation rich in junipers, hence the name, reaches the edge of the beach, giving life to a multitude of colors and scents that remain in the soul.
The seabeds rich in underwater fauna are ideal for underwater fishing enthusiasts and for those who love to explore with a mask and fins.
The beach offers essential services: it has a large parking lot, a bar. It is possible to rent umbrellas, deck chairs and pedal boats.
Cea Beach
The “Spiaggia di Cea” is one of the most loved on the Ogliastra coast. Over a kilometer of fine white sand and crystal clear waters, characterized by shallow waters perfect for children.
The Mediterranean scrub frames this wonderful stretch of coast, interspersed with silvery rocks, a very fine beach adorned with small shells and grains of pink coral that characterize the dry beach, small gulfs that make it unique and of rare beauty, shallow waters that extend for meters and meters.
The undisputed protagonists of this panorama are the “Is Scoglius Arrubius”, two stacks that rise majestically from the transparent waters. Appreciated by the most daring divers who make them their stage.
The beach is full of services: large parking lot, bar, refreshment point and clubs.
La Spiaggetta (The Small Beach)
“La Spiaggetta” is a corner of sandy and pebbled beach, bordered by rocks on the sides and framed by pine and juniper vegetation.
Evocative and characteristic, it is particularly appreciated by lovers of snorkeling and underwater fishing. Not very crowded, it is ideal for those who want to spend time in tranquility, immersed in nature.
The beach offers some services: it has a large suitable parking lot and a refreshment point/bar.
Su Sirboni
Among the most beautiful coves on the Ogliastra coast, “Su Sirboni” combines the love of the sea with the pleasure of adventure. Located in the uncontaminated territory of Gairo, it can be reached by sea or via a path through the woods and rocks. Its name comes from a curiosity: in this stretch of beach, wild boars (sirboni) used to roam undisturbed, as this cove is surrounded by thick vegetation.
White beaches, transparent waters with emerald colors. A corner of uncontaminated paradise. Sea, sun and nature. Ideal for snorkeling lovers and a unique setting for photography lovers. Unique views. Sea and mountains with a single glance.
Spiaggia di Coccorrocci
The beach of “Coccorrocci” is the largest pebble beach in Sardinia. An inlet at the foot of the “Monti e Ferru e Cuccureddu” that enchants with the wonderful panorama that surrounds it. Thick forests of juniper trees, large pebbles smoothed by the sea with variegated colors, plays of light created by the sun’s rays that break on the crystalline waters and the multicolored seabed.
Its strategic position makes it ideal for surf lovers thanks to its exposure to the winds. The seabed rich in inlets is ideal for underwater fishing lovers.
A new experience for those who love the diversity and variegation that only Ogliastra offers. The beach offers some services: it has a large parking lot also suitable for campers.
