We at Domus de Janas have always been dedicated to improving our environmental impact through various initiatives: optimising the use of energy and water, reducing waste, responsible consumption, sustainable management of facilities, active involvement of employees and customers in ecological practices, promotion of local development, and valorisation of local products.

In fact, for 17 years we have been awarded the EU Ecolabel certification, which is given to companies that demonstrate their commitment to eco-sustainability and reducing the environmental impact of their economy.

Over the years, with many small eco-sustainable initiatives, we have carried forward our idea through the dissemination of good practices of environmental sustainability. The EU ECOLABEL award is given to companies, divided by category, that have demonstrated the greatest commitment to eco-sustainability and to reducing the environmental impact of their economy.

At the Domus de Janas we care about our territory and environment and we believe that only by respecting it and not polluting it can we succeed in safeguarding it. We ask our guests to take care of our territory and remind them that respect for nature comes from small and simple actions.

We try to limit the purchase of disposable products or products with unsustainable packaging as much as possible. We have a dispenser of naturised water available free of charge for all guests to fill their own containers, and in case they don’t have any we have affordable metal water bottles for sale. The water for our restaurant and bar is also naturised.

We generate energy with our solar panels. We’ve installed LED light bulbs throughout most of the property and have a power stabilizer. We educate our staff and guests on how to limit energy waste.

Although there is no public transport to get to our hotel, once here guests can take advantage of our bicycle and electric bike rental to enjoy nature and the surroundings in a sustainable and adventurous way. In addition, our car, used for errands and travel, is completely electric.

Staying at our hotel means choosing an establishment that respects the environment and its resources. Thanks to the installation of pressure reducers and the use of solar panels, we help to reduce water and energy consumption. A small gesture for a big change, for the benefit of our guests and the planet.

Our cuisine is a tribute to the richness of the region, with dishes that tell the story of local history and culture. We use only the freshest ingredients sourced, whenever possible, from local farms and producers: fragrant cheeses, seasonal vegetables, fresh fish, meat from local farms and artisanal cured meats.
